Conversational events to add sparkle to life

Conversational gatherings are held regularly in Adelaide, Australia, and have been since 2011.

They are for anyone, no matter what your background, who wishes to have more sparkle in your life and sees that being in lively, friendly company is a way of achieving this.

See below for Forthcoming Events.

I sensed a wonderfully positive energy from the moment I entered and very much enjoyed the connectivity of the evening. I felt we could have mixed and matched socially in any permutation in such a comfortable atmosphere.”
Eileen Rogers

“Simple and deep, a spiritual adventure.”

Do you like the sound of these reports? And does the opportunity to experience this gladden your heart?

These events are ‘in tune’ with others mentioned below, with one main difference.

Awareness of the vital importance of getting together to have conversation is spreading widely – at last! –  by and for those who appreciate the value and significance of such happenings.

For example, just completed is the first ever  National Conversation Week in the USA, with a wide range of programs and events. Which doubtless have brought much pleasure, satisfaction and likely new ways of being and acting to participants.

One of the many events which captured my attention was this:

National Week of Conversation: Civility and Polite Conversation

“To celebrate the National Week of Conversation, Virginia Beach Public Library (VBPL) is hosting a Living Room Conversation on the topic of Civility and Polite Conversation. How we treat each other is the difference between a great place to live and a bad place to live. Most people agree we want communities where all people have dignity and respect. Yet respectful interactions are often not what we see modelled in the media and in politics. What is our role in these dynamics?”

Set up by a group called Living Room Conversations  participants come together in small groups, in diverse places such as halls or homes, to converse about nominated topics and share perspectives of particular issues.

The difference in the events held in Adelaide is that the primary focus is on each other. All present, in pairs F2F, learn more about one person over a meal together.  Everyone does this, all are full participants. With the dinner partners being participants who do not know each other, or not well. And with ample opportunity to mix informally with others too.

Called ‘Conversare’ from the Latin con versare – to turn or to dance together these hosted social gatherings were originally held in a small hotel in the central business district of Adelaide. The venue is now the Adelaide Central Market, after trading our on weekday evenings. The Market is only open for business on Friday nights.

Bookings for the forthcoming events on Thursdays 17 May and 21 June, 2018 go to Eventbrite.

Then to book click SELECT A DATE to choose which of the two events you wish to attend. You can, of course, come to both if you wish. 🙂
