Conversing Community ‘evolvings’

What is increasingly reported in media and in an array of publications is the widespread prevalence of loneliness. In fact, this is  ‘remarkably topical’. Noreena Hertz, author of a newly published book
entitled The Lonely Century  – Coming Together in a World that’s Pulling Apart will feature in the Adelaide Writers Week 2021 on 4 March. Live-streamed from London UK.

For addressing loneliness is at the core of initiatives to enable people to have more connections with each other.  As expressed ‘wonderfully’ by  Paul Born, in his book entitled ‘Deepening Community’.

Essentially I became distracted by attending a presentation on this by Noreena on the last day of Writers Week in Adelaide, South Australia.

After which I purchased the last copy available at the location of her book.

About which I spent some time reading this and related articles, of which numerous online came to my attention.

After doing this I began to appreciate that, while this ‘issue’ was of growing concern to many – exacerbated by current widespread pandemic related ‘strictures’ on socialising – there are ways to look at the importance of relating well to each other.

Some of which focus on the great joy associated with feelings of companionship.

On which I will focus on in a future post.
