What Conversare is and what it is not

It is:

.  people coming together to engage with each other in greater depth than usually happens in social events.

.  an informal way of relating well among people who may not know each other.

. an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to connect.

.  a space in which whoever comes is most welcome.

.  an event in which there is nothing to do except immerse yourself in the experience.

. an opportunity to remove yourself from the ‘busyness and babble’ of everyday life and spend time with like minded people enjoying the company.

.  highly enjoyable according to reports of people who have participated in one or more events.

.  a social event which is lightly facilitated by a host.

. people participating in a spirit of ‘I am here to give rather than get’.

It is for people who:

.  wish to have deeper connections with others than is possible through digital
means such as online social networks.

.  are looking for enriching  social experiencing.

.  like to be stretched though interacting with lively spirits.

.   enjoy meeting new people.

.   wish to feel totally accepted.

.   prefer participating rather than sitting back and watching.

.   crave closer human connection than usually happens in everyday urban life.

.  enjoy being in lively company from which outcomes are good experiencing,
fond memories and who knows what insights and learning …

intuit that we humans grow under the stimulation of connecting with each other and with ideas that this brings to open new perspectives on life.

.  enjoy wholesome fun.

.  understand that it is about relating not problem solving.

.  recognize that it is an opportunity to express ‘the elusive, spontaneous, sincere and vulnerable’ bits of ourselves.

. are prepared to be minimally judgmental about whoever it is they encounter as a group or face-to-face.

It is not

.  for the purpose of achieving outcomes to particular issues.

.  a context (or contest!) in which to show off your skills as entertainer or orator.

.  related to who you are or what your background is.

.  only for people who already know each other.

.  for people wishing to make business contacts.

.  a MeetUp event for people who have special interests such as bird watching or hiking.

.   about working in teams.

.   designed to achieve transformation – although participants may experience this.

.  ‘touchy – feely’ stuff!
