Have you ever been told you are a 'right person?'

“Amazing is the word I would use to describe tonight … the connections and
discussions … truly inspiring and thought provoking … I really enjoyed it. Thank you. ”  Jes S

“It’s a  good time as I feel relax even I’m the  first time to come. So great!! Thanks! And sure I will join it next time. Some interesting conversation that I can share and listen from others. It should be promoted and have many more occasions like it.”   Rainbow Hui

“The idea of meeting in public forums which challenges the social ‘status quo’ – through inclusive gatherings of people from all walks of life –  is a super idea  … the concept of having free thought and opinion ‘facilitated’ or ‘guided’ by a moderator offers a refreshing alternative to the tired ‘pub scene’… ”   Gary K

What kind of gatherings lead to these expressions of delight and of ‘wanting more?’

If you have – or have had – a look around this site you may gain an inkling of this. Which is not the same as having an experience of being a participant in a Conversare.

Here are ideas which may give more of an insight into the underpinning of this kind of get together. For a start there is a moderator or host, someone who suggests a few guidelines for the way participants interact with each other.

Among these guidelines are:

You are most welcome here. For you are among the right people to be present and to make your unique contribution to whatever happens here today. In a spirit of curiosity about who you may meet and an interest in getting to know those you encounter. Being aware of any feelings of judgment through realizing that everybody here is also one of the ‘right people.’

Have you ever been to a social gathering in a public place such as a restaurant or hotel in which you were told that you were the ‘right people’ regardless of who it is who comes along.

There is something rather mysterious about this, don’t you think? How could anyone be so bold as to make this statement? When often we may be thinking ‘Look at those people over there, not even dressed properly.’ ‘I do wish people more our type were here.’

And yet who are we to pass judgment on anyone who happens to be among the participants? Or  to feel at a loss that particular others are not?

For the essence of these gatherings is coming with an anticipation of something marvelous may happen. Which is very likely in contexts in which all feel similarly!

How would you respond if you were invited to s social event in which there would be informal mixing to start, followed by the opportunity to engage in conversation with someone you may not have met? Knowing that implicit in the invitation is the opportunity to engage in a different way from what you usually do in the company of your friends or family.

Would you say “Just what I have been waiting for. How interesting. What fun this could be!”

Well, your chance to do this could happen in three main places very soon. For people who enjoyed the experience greatly in Hong Kong are planning to get it going there again. And the word is getting around Adelaide that there are lively possibilities in the wind here. Plus the first place where Conversare happened in Indonesia, Padang in West Sumatra may well hold in a seaside café.

Would you wish to know more of these ‘spiritual adventures’ – given this name by a person in Padang? If so post your query just below here and away we will all go!
